Episode 32 - The Human Tornado (1976)

There's a storm warning in effect for the podcast this week, because Cooper and Nolan are getting all twisted up in THE HUMAN TORNADO! 

If you like ridiculous outfits, amateur Kung Fu fighting, gratuitous nudity, instant replays, and watching rat soup-eatin' m*********ers get what they deserve, then you'll understand why this was the perfect choice for our first ever blaxploitation movie - one that even an unfortunate beer connection can't ruin. (Which is definitely NOT a slight against the fine folks at Outlaw Brew Co.)

Grab on to something sturdy, because this episode might just blow you away!

Episode 31 - Mars Attacks! (1996)

This week Cooper and Nolan are bracing the podcast for invasion (or worse) when MARS ATTACKS!  What was supposed to be a story about aliens marching on Earth turned out to be the story of peak Tim Burton flying too close to the sun. It's a rough trip, full of hacky comedy, cartoonish CGI, and an A-list cast that got completely squandered along the way.  Better assemble the welcome party; this episode (featuring a beer from Nickel Brook Brewing Co.) is about to make contact.

Episode 30 - Night of the Demon (1980)

This week Cooper and Nolan venture deep into the woods by special request in an attempt to explain NIGHT OF THE DEMON!  But considering that it's a movie about Bigfoot (not demons), that mmmight not be easy.  What WILL be easy is laughing at the terrible Sasquatch costume, 70s sex scene choreography, and increasingly ridiculous death scenes. That poor biker...

This episode (featuring a beer from Beau's Brewery) is a (video) nasty good time!

Episode 29 - Murphy's Law (1986)

Cooper and Nolan are on a two-man quest for justice this week with MURPHY'S LAW, and they don't care how many 80s cop movie tropes they have to go through to get it!  Thanks to the magic of Charles Bronson (and more of the incredible production value you've come to expect from the Cannon Films Group), what seemed like a paint-by-numbers cop thriller gave the guys a lot more than they expected - more genre-bending tonal shifts, more incredible one-liners, and more senior-citizen-aged action scenes than you can shake a crossbow at.  Jack Murphy's law says don't miss this episode - featuring Murphy's Irish Stout!

Episode 28 - Godzilla (1998)

This week Cooper and Nolan take a bite out of the big apple with the legendary 1998 monster movie misfire GODZILLA!  Terrible casting, a wildly implausible story, low-hanging laughs... there's plenty to pick apart in this disaster of a movie.  In FACT, if it hadn't been for the 9.5% ABV beer from Signal Brewery or the Brooklyn bridge making an appearance (Nol loves bridges), this might have seriously made the guys reconsider accepting audience requests.  Better get ready for the big one, because this episode is larger than life!

Episode 27 - The Last Dragon (1985)

This week Cooper and Nolan are getting their glow on with Berry Gordy's THE LAST DRAGON - a movie that (despite being harmless fun) almost caused the guys to break out some Kung Fu on each other.  They may never agree on who the audience for this movie is supposed to be, but if you like martial arts action, bright colours, and 80s music, then maybe the answer was inside you the whole time.  Either way, this episode (featuring a beer from Craft Heads Brewing Co.) can teach you some moves.

Episode 26 - Lifeforce (1985)

This week Cooper and Nolan explore LIFEFORCE, a failed 80s sci-fi/horror mashup from the director of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Sexy vampires are invading the Earth, and just the thought of it is forcing the guys to ask some tough questions. Is there such thing as too much mouth? Is having your name yelled during sex REALLY a good thing? Do umbrellas look like d***s? And most importantly, would you betray the human race if a sexy vampire asked you to? The answers may surprise you...

This episode features a beer from the Marz Community Brewing Co., and also the incredibly awkward story of the time Nolan went to see Species 2 with his dad.

Episode 25 - Over The Top (1987)

It's time to go to work this week, and in the spirit of Lincoln Hawk(s?), Cooper and Nolan weren't going to let anything stop them from making their 25th episode... not even increased Covid restrictions or the challenges of distance recording.  The result was a lot like OVER THE TOP itself - it may not be pretty, but it's a good time.  Creepy family vibes, scenery-chewing performances, nonsensical tournament formats... there's a lot to wrestle with in this movie, and the guys are taking it on with some help from Big Rig Brewery.  With the magic combination of Cannon Films and 80s Stallone, you're going to want to meet this episode more than halfway!

Episode 24 - Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977)

This week Cooper and Nolan get cozy with a long-lost horror film of the 70s... DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS.  A truly bizarre combination of arthouse film and the LOWEST budget horror, this movie will leave you with more questions than answers (questions like: WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP GETTING IN THE BED???).  But it'll also make you laugh, which the guys did a LOT while enjoying a beer from All Or Nothing Brewhouse.  Trust us, you don't want to sleep on this episode!

Episode 23 - Total Recall (2012)

It's mind over movie this week as Cooper and Nolan strap themselves in for 2012's TOTAL RECALL, a terrible remake of a beloved 90s classic.  Colin Farrell instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger?  A dull, bleak dystopian Earth instead of a bright, colourful Mars colony?  Endless CGI instead of tangible sets & effects?  Yep, it's as awful as you remember.  The good news is, this episode (featuring a beer from Rorschach Brewing Co.) will erase that bad memory once and for all.
