Episode 136 - Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. (1990)

Cooper and Nolan are ready to protect and serve this week, when they finally cover SGT. KABUKIMAN N.Y.P.D.!

This trip to Tromaville (by way of NYC) has been a long time coming, and the guys are bringing in a noted tapehead and trash cinema fan to help them navigate all of the strange sights and sounds.

And with some of the most ridiculous plot points, practical FX, and wigs you could possibly imagine, this special guest definitely has his work cut out for him - but not as much a Nolan trying to tiptoe around the movie's problematic stereotypes.

Words won't do this one justice, you're just going to have to taste it, so grab your chopsticks; this episode (featuring a beer from Godspeed Brewery) is a comedy experience you'll want to dive into.

Episode 135 - Foxy Brown (1974)

Cooper and Nolan aren't messing around this week when they meet FOXY BROWN!

This Blaxploitation classic was meant to be a sequel to Coffy, and with the many, MANY things they have in common it really shows. Which is great news for the guys, since they both feel like they rated Coffy too low back in Season 2.

Are familiar genre features and the welcome presence of Pam Grier enough to put this thing on top? Or will the absence of hooker fights and a questionable big bad send it straight downtown?

The answer is floating around in here somewhere, so open the jar on this episode (featuring a beer from Amsterdam Brewing Co.) and find out!

Episode 134 - Live and Let Die (1973)

Cooper and Nolan are bringing back Bond this week when they cover Roger Moore's first turn as 007 in LIVE AND LET DIE!

Seeing as this movie - ahem - borrows heavily from the Blaxploitation film genre, it feels appropriate that the guys are talking about it during Black History Month. From the stereotypical occupation of main villain Dr. Kananga, to the flamboyant 70s style of Baron Samedi, to the less than flattering portrayal of certain southern characters, let's just say there's a lot that doesn't look great with the benefit of hindsight.

Still, some things (like a kick-ass theme song or Jane Seymour's beauty) are timeless, so maybe it's better to live and let live. Either way, this episode (featuring a beer from the Silversmith Brewing Co.) proves one thing - nobody does it like Bond!

Episode 133 - Jack Frost (1997)

Cooper and Nolan are welcoming winter this week when they cover JACK FROST!

This infamous straight-to-video horror movie about a homicidal snowman might have the same name as the family film starring Michael Keaton, but as anyone who came home from Blockbuster Video in the late 90s only to find the VHS tapes switched can tell you, they are VERY different things. 

For example: would two guys watching the family friendly Jack Frost spend their time arguing about shrinkage, the rules of manslaughter, or how much better the movie would be if it starred Tom Atkins? (Ok, maybe that last one.)

Either way, this episode (featuring a beer from Grain & Grit Beer Co.) is one you won't want to leave on ice. After all, there's no excuse for not cleaning out your freezer!

Episode 132 - Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991)

Cooper and Nolan are turning the page this week when they take on RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY!

This bats**t crazy Hong Kong martial arts movie is filled with some of the most jaw-dropping practical effects that the early 90s had to offer. Add in the ridiculously over-the-top characters, overdubs, and story elements, and you have something the guys were struggling to classify.

Is this a comedy? Much like the source of Riki-Oh's incredible powers, the answer may never be fully known. But when a movie is this insanely entertaining... does it matter? 

Don't lose your head worrying about the details; this episode (featuring a beer from Storyteller Beverages) is one story you won't be able to put down!

Episode 131 - Surviving Christmas (2004)

Cooper and Nolan are hoping for a miracle this week, when they cover SURVIVING CHRISTMAS!

Holiday cheer is in short supply in this early 2000s comedy, which came at a low point in star Ben Affleck's career. But maybe - just maybe - an implausible romantic subplot, jokes about masturbation, and a cameo appearance from Udo Kier can help this thing be seen in a new light.

Sound crazy? That might be the alcohol talking, as the guys continue their annual tradition of sampling MANY beers, this time from the Oranje Son Brewing advent case.

Make sure there's room at the table either way; this very special CHRISTMAS EPISODE is definitely one you'll want to bring home for the holidays!

Episode 130 - Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970)

Cooper and Nolan are looking on up at the bottom this week, as they go BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS!

Free love is flowing in this hippie-era tale of temptation thanks to infamous exploitation director Russ Meyer, and the guys are going along for the ride.

And what a ride it is! One featuring sex, drugs, Superwoman, and the music of Strawberry Alarm Clock. Not to mention a bunch of over the top performances, and the most laughably intense overlays you'll ever see... or hear about.

Bottom line? It's a happening, and it just might freak you out; this episode (featuring a beer from Farm League Brewing) goes beyond anything you could have expected.

Episode 129 - Night Beast (1982)

Cooper and Nolan are having a night to remember this week, when they cover the early 80s sci-fi horror NIGHT BEAST by special request! Now if only they could remember who requested it...

The guys may not be 100% sure who asked them to cover this, but what's certain is that the story about a small Baltimore-area town being threatened by a laser-toting alien is absolutely bonkers.

Is the title of this movie accurate? Can the awkward sheriff, his sexy deputy, a corrupt mayor, a monotone coroner, and the most heroic civilian you could possibly imagine stop it from destroying the human race? And does this story actually take place in the 1950s?

2/3 of these questions may never be answered, but the chances are MUCH better that you'll enjoy yourself along the way; this episode (featuring a beer from the Avling Brewery) is an absolute beast of a good time.

Episode 128 - The Running Man (1987)

Cooper and Nolan are making a break for it this week when they cover THE RUNNING MAN!

Based on a novel by Steven King, this action packed piece of 80s sci-fi makes some surprisingly accurate predictions about the future, and features what is arguably an underrated Arnold Schwarzenegger performance.

Is that enough to overcome the paper thin characters, questionable fashion choices, and heavy handed social commentary of the era? Maybe not, but the guys are having a great time either way.

So get ready to hit the ground running; this episode (featuring a beer from Dawson Trail Craft Brewing) is one game you'll be glad you played.
